- Value for money
The real difference are the guides - besides the accommodations, the meals, the handling of the transfers, and the pro-staff + the team have a complete command of english. They know Los Roques supremely well having pioneered the fishing there from the late 80's and they have that rare ability to just add a little flavour and variety to a day. Los Roques is famous for its small wadeable flats that offer wonderful fishing for very decent sized tailing fish and for the beach fishing where the bonefish hang off the beaches and raid the baitfish. With the flexibility to operate either the traditional penero boats or their more modern key type skiffs, stalking schools, pods, or singles.
Pros: In one day you can enjoy some fine, productive bonefishing to tailing fish, you can hook big-eye jack, land flag yellow-tail snappers and jump baby tarpon in the 10-30 lb. class as well as cast to fish in the 100 lbs calls rolling in deeper water but perfectly catchable or chase permit in the deep white sand flats. On top of this they have a small blue water boat to take guests out to fish for wahoo or tunas.
Great guides - super flats
Pros: remote / unique / virgin
We have fished many times with Hawer and he is the ultimate guide, angler, and officer in charge - good english spoken. He knows the flats in Los Roques, and is pleasant to spend the day with. We highly recommend him. You will enjoy your time spend with him..
Pros: Very good with English
I spent two days with Pedro Sight Cast. Exellent guide. 5 minutes and two cast before the first fish. Often changes of place, discovering different kind of flats. Each time, he gave me good advices. During the fight, he stays quiet and let you do the work. I really wish to come back to Los Roques and I will do the same.
Pros: Great waters
Pedro & marinero were awesome; very experienced and well equipped. We fished 8 hours on a shared charter and got a 9 foot Tarpon, several carites, 2 bonitos, several king fish, & macabis. It could not have been a better day.
Pros: Their knowledge
Upon hearing about this place. I decided to send these guys a mail. They got me booked onto a tour. Our attempt to catch some bait fish was not successful so we moved on to some of the shipwreck areas to try our luck. We did catch a nice little Blackfin which was a keeper. As soon as the bait hit depth we hooked a 43 inch Almaco Jack which I reeled in! Great experience. We then went for another attempt and a short Time later hit a 50 inch Amber Jack! What a fight pulling him in. We then moved spots one more time and caught a 36 inch Grouper! Too bad he was out of season so we sent him back to the depths! The crew here was fantastic and this was my best fishing experience yet by far - Highly recommend..
Pros: + lots of bones..
